USPS UNVEILS STAMP FOR 1960S CULTURE ICON
JULY 1, 2014 – The USPS revealed the artwork for the Janis Joplin stamp, the latest issue in the Music Icons 2014 Series. The Music Icons Series was started back in 2013 and so far has honored music icons such as American guitarist Lydia Mendoza (pictured left) who played Tejano and other Mexican-American traditional music, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles and Jimi Hendrix. The stamp features Janis with her trademark sunglasses and smile, and a cool 1960s font and bold colors with her name across the top.
