Charles L. Hughes, director of the Memphis Center at Rhodes College, gives lecture
NOV 6, 2015 – Maria Mullis has a great article up on The Daily Tar Heel about Dr. Charles Hughes from Rhodes College who just gave a lecture about music, racism, and southern culture. This is a must read for anybody interested in music and history. Of course most bands were not integrated in the south back in the 1950s and 60s, but one southern band was actually integrated pretty well, very interesting footnote in history.
